- General public (students, lab workers, anyone interested in cutting-edge science and transformative discoveries)
Registration is now open. Registration is free and open to the public. So please feel free to invite others and bring members of your lab.
Room reservations can be made at The Bethesdan Hotel, Tapestry Collection by Hilton. Reservations must be made by May 13, 2024.
All hotel and travel arrangements and payments are the sole responsibility of the symposium attendee. The NIH will not pay for or arrange travel for symposium attendees, including for selected speakers.
Only current NIH Director's Pioneer, New Innovator, Transformative Research, or Early Independence awardees are allowed to speak or present posters. HRHR awardees attending the symposium are encouraged (but not required) to participate in the program.
Abstract submission is open until March 1, 2024. Awardees are encouraged, but not required, to present their research activities at the symposium as an oral presentation or poster (must be an awardee to present). Awardees wishing to speak or present a poster should submit abstracts. Abstracts are limited to 300 words.
Abstracts must be submitted for talks and posters and will be reviewed by NIH staff. There are a limited number of speaking slots and poster spots, and not all submissions may be selected for the final program. Speaking priority is given to those towards the end of their award who have not spoken at the symposium before. Speaker selection will seek programmatic balance across science areas and award types. Poster slots will be given on a "first-come, first-served" basis.
The agenda is posted here: https://commonfund.nih.gov/highrisk/symposium-agenda
